A very easy recipe for fluffy fried balls – perfect for breakfast and not only. I serve them with cheese or marmalade/honey. My advice is to choose a deep frying pan in which to pour a large amount of oil (3 cm from the bottom). During frying, the balls turn upside alone. Still, if they are mulish … help them with a slotted spoon.
Products:
1 egg
3 egg whites
1 cup Greek yoghurt
1 and ½ cup flour
1 teaspoon soda
sunflower oil for frying (be ready with more)
Preparation:
Mix all products by hand; no mixer is required. The dough is semi-liquid and tough.
Using a hollow ice cream scoop, I scoop the mixture, pour it very carefully into the heavily boiled vegetable oil. I try to pour at one point to make balls as smooth as possible, not shaggy.
Fry briefly on both sides. I take them out with a large slotted spoon on a paper towel that will absorb the excess fat.
