I found the original recipe in a culinary book by Kamelia Voche (В кухнята с Камелия Воче: лесно, вкусно и полезно). In her version, they are in the form of small salty bites. I changed the quantities of the ingredients to my taste and got delicious bread rolls for breakfast! I prepare them in no time. I assure you, they’re over before they cool.


750 g flour, sifted

250 g of grated Feta cheese

250 g of grated yellow cheese (Bulgarian/Romanian Kashkaval)

227 g of butter, grated on a grater (the same weight is the package I buy)

380 g yoghurt (Greek natural)

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1 teaspoon of sugar


Mix all products by hand in a wide bowl.

I make medium hard dough.

Make balls, and then form a slightly oval shape.

Lay them off in a tray at a distance, the bottom of which I have lined with greased baking paper.

Bake in preheated oven at 200ᴼC. 10 minutes after start of baking, I lower the temperature to 180ᴼC.

Do not bake for long, only to slight redness. I check them during baking.
